As a Security Hospital Supervising Treatment Assistant, you would supervise Security Hospital Senior Treatment Assistants and Security Hospital Treatment Assistants on an assigned shift at a maximum security forensic psychiatric center operated by the Office of Mental Health (OMH). You would assign staff to ensure adequate coverage at all times and review and approve all work orders placed by clinical and direct care staff to ensure that clinical initiatives do not conflict with patient security and safety. You would train and direct subordinates, as well as ensure staff compliance with facility rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines. You would also participate in meetings and committees as assigned by the Security Hospital Treatment Chief.

Salary Range:
From $77397 to $93879 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Candidates must be reachable for appointment from the current Civil Service eligible list for the title; OR Be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. To qualify for a Section 70.1 transfer, candidates must have at least one year of permanent status, in a qualifying title approved for transfer by Civil Service, within two salary grades of the Grade 20 level. OR Provisional Opportunity In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, employees of the New York State Office of Mental Health who have 1 year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Security Hospital Senior Treatment Assistant, SG-16, may be qualified for provisional appointment. Candidates appointed provisionally must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title, and their score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before they can be permanently appointed. Candidates who do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score may not be retained.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
