Minimum Qualification
TEACHER 2/SG-13 Current New York State Education Department provisional/initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty, or current comparable Emergency COVID-19 certificate. TEACHER 3/SG-15 Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty, or current comparable Emergency COVID-19 certificate. TEACHER 4/SG-17 Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty, or current comparable Emergency COVID-19 certificate; AND, two years of post-certification (provisional/initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty. COVID-19 Certifications:
Applicants who apply with the COVID-19 certificate must obtain their initial or professional certificate to remain employed. When applying for the examination and filling out the online questionnaire, you should select the initial or professional certificate you intend to obtain before the expiration of your COVID-19 certificate. Not having an initial or professional certificate after the expiration of your COVID-19 certificate will be considered a loss of certification and will result in termination of employment. If you apply for the Elementary School Subjects examination(s), you must possess New York State Certification in one of the following:
Childhood Education (Grades 1-6); Pre Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Grades 1-6; Nursery, Kindergarten & Grades 1-6; or Common Branch Subjects (1-6).Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
